VOLUNTEER
The Children’s Book Bank relies on community volunteers to help prepare donated books for distribution. Every donated book is “spruced up” before it leaves our warehouse. This involves erasing scribbles, covering inscriptions, reinforcing spines, taping torn pages and wiping covers.
The Children’s Book Bank has partnered with Hands on Greater Portland to link volunteers with volunteer opportunities at the book bank. Book processing sessions are posted at www.handsonportland.org. Click on the Project Calendar on the left and look for “Help Get Books into the Hands of Children” events. If you haven’t volunteered with Hands On Greater Portland before you will be prompted to register as a volunteer.
The Hands On Calendar currently features events at the Children's Book Bank most Mondays (4-6pm), Wednesdays (6:30-8:30pm) and every other Saturday (1-4pm). If you'd like to volunteer, as an individual or with your own group, at some other time, please e-mail Tom at:

The Children’s Book Bank strives to be a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to make a difference. The Children’s Book Bank is a family friendly place. Children ages 6 and up with a parent are welcome!
